SPECIES: Brachyscome muelleri — Corunna Daisy
CLASSIFICATION: Endangered
The Corunna Daisy is quite the delicate native daisy, to say the least. The remaining population unfortunately finds itself confined growing near a waterfall in and around the rocky outcrops on Corunna Hill in South Australia. The rocky habitat helps to protect against hot, dry conditions and does provide ideal water catchment around the base of the rocks. It produces white to pale mauve flowers.
Dry winters and bushfire can destroy and diminish plant numbers drastically, introduced plants and invasive weeds lurk within habitat range, not to mention the small number of plants remaining. As we said to begin with, the Corunna Daisy is quite the delicate native daisy.
