SPECIES: Olearia arckaringensis — Arckaringa Daisy

CLASSIFICATION: Endangered

Endemic to Arckaringa Hills in northern SA, found growing in low, open woodland, and discovered relatively recently in 2000 - is the Arckaringa Daisy. Producing delicate lavender or white and yellow daisy-like flowers and hairy light-coloured leaves, it also possesses quite a useful adaptation of being able to regenerate from its woody base. A handy thing to be able to do when rain is scarce and inconsistent. Grazing and trampling by stock and animals pose a threat to the remaining population of the Daisy.
